Social Housing

Over 1 million households in the UK are now affected by a severe shortage of high-quality social housing with many poorer families living in run-down, damp and unhealthy conditions.

There exists a long and substantial documentation on the relationship between poor health and poor housing conditions. The highest risks to health are caused by cold, damp and mouldy conditions.

A report from a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy states: “As a physio, I have visited patients living in basement flats with mould and damp. I’ve seen older people’s conditions made worse by fungal spores in the air because their central heating works only intermittently, and I’ve visited patients with mental health problems, which may well be why they are living in poor housing in the first place.”

How can our systems help?

ADM’s ventilation systems are ideal for social housing where there is a need for cost-effective ventilation systems that tackle the problems of condensation.

Our heat recovery systems:

  • fit unobtrusively into ‘wet room’ areas
  • extract moisture-laden and stale air whilst simultaneously replacing it with fresher, cleaner and healthier air.
  • target areas where condensation builds up
  • extract the moisture-laden air
  • remove the necessity to open windows

There is no need for occupants to control the system themselves and our annual aftercare and servicing contracts makes sure the system remains fully functioning at all times.
