Servicing The whole operation is straight forward and normally undertaken once a year. Full details are provided with each unit. Start by giving the Heat Exchange unit a vacuum clean then simply wash the Heat Exchanger in warm water using a mild detergent. The filters (if fitted) can be accessed and changed at the same time, however it may be necessary to replace filters more frequently depending on local conditions. To
prevent moisture and unwelcome smells migrating to other parts of the
house, stale, polluted air is continuously extracted from toilets,
bathrooms, kitchen and utility rooms (wet rooms) before being
discharged outside.
For
optimum performance we use, as standard, a rigid ducting system. Made
from uPVC, the air throughput is subject to much less resistance than
other types of ducting, including flexible duct. As there is less
turbulence, the fans do not have to work as hard and therefore are more
efficient and quiet.
Neat
ceiling or wall-mounted terminals are used to supply or extract air
from each room. The supply terminals are directional so the air is
delivered into the heart of the room and away from an adjacent wall
where it could create draughts. The terminal gently introduces the air
laterally so it diffuses with air already in the room, again to avoid
draughts and discomfort.
