Heat Recovery Ventilation (MVHR)

"Our Heat Recovery Systems both extract stale air and circulate fresh, pre-warmed, filtered air throughout the building. This is done without the security risk of open windows, annoying draughts or the use of noisy extractor fans. You can also choose a single room unit."

heat recovery house diagramTo prevent moisture and unwelcome smells migrating to other parts of the house, stale, polluted air is continuously extracted from toilets, bathrooms, kitchen and utility rooms (wet rooms) before being discharged outside.

At the same time, pre-warmed fresh air is delivered into other rooms of the home. This provides a flow of fresh air throughout the whole house, resulting, in a high standard of internal air quality, which can be further enhanced by adding filters to remove pollen. Saving Energy

At the heart of the system is a high efficiency Heat Exchanger that recovers up to 95% of the heat from the extracted air, and transfers it to the incoming fresh air.

Consequently substantial savings can be made on heating bills compared with 'extract only' ventilation, where the heat is simply allowed to escape into the atmosphere.

Quiet

Each system is designed individually to operate quietly and efficiently. The system comprises, a compact air handling unit with heat exchanger complete with controller, rigid smooth bore ducting, supply and extract air valves, pollen filters, external terminals and noise attenuation.

Everyday benefits:
• Fresh filtered air circulated throughout the home
• Condensation controlled
• Unpleasant smells removed
• Lower heating bills
• Improved security
• No more draughts
• Quiet
• No need to install trickle ventilators
• Reduces noise ingress

Medical Research shows that Heat Recovery Ventilation can have a major impact on improving the quality of life for sufferers of the following allergies:
• Asthma
• Bronchial attacks
• Eczema
• Hay Fever

Air handling units

ADM offer an unrivalled range of units to suit all applications.
Lightweight and extremely quiet, the Heat Recovery Units are compact (e.g. approx. 600 x 600 x 300mm), taking up very little room. This can be particularly useful where space is limited. Some units can be installed either horizontally or vertically and are suitable for most domestic, healthcare, and commercial buildings.

The motors within the air handling units are quiet and energy efficient. Single-phase external rotor motors are safeguarded by thermal overload protection. Air handling units are available to suit all applications from a single room to a large multi use building so contact ADM Systems to see what would best suit you.

The heat exchanger

Its surface area provides a highly efficient transfer of heat. The enhanced profiling of each plate extends its surface area and provides a balance between laminar and turbulent airflows. Up to 95% of heat is transferred from the stale air to the incoming fresh air. Its unique design minimises the pressure drop by providing improved airflow entry characteristics, resulting in an extremely efficient Heat Exchanger.

High performance ducting

puch fit ductingFor optimum performance we use, as standard, a rigid ducting system. Made from uPVC, the air throughput is subject to much less resistance than other types of ducting, including flexible duct. As there is less turbulence, the fans do not have to work as hard and therefore are more efficient and quiet.

It is lightweight and yet robust. Push-fit assembly means the system is simple and quick to install, standard hand tools are all that is required.

Room terminals

supply valveNeat ceiling or wall-mounted terminals are used to supply or extract air from each room. The supply terminals are directional so the air is delivered into the heart of the room and away from an adjacent wall where it could create draughts. The terminal gently introduces the air laterally so it diffuses with air already in the room, again to avoid draughts and discomfort.

Stainless steel terminals

A range of both internal and external stainless steel options are readily
available. Contact ADM Systems and we will phone you... or call us now on 01756 701051.

Heater

An inline heater, either electric or Low Pressure Hot Water (LPHW) can be easily incorporated into the system to provide 'top-up' heating. Contact ADM Systems and we will phone you... or call us now on 01756 701051.

Timed Boost Speed Controller

The TBM is a master switch for use with ventilation equipment that operates
using a changeover switch to select between 2 speeds.

It incorporates an overrun timer that can boost the speed setting for up to
30 mins and then will drop back to "normal".

To operate this facility from anywhere in the building up to 10 remote
switches can be fitted. This switch can also be wired into home networking systems.

Summer By Pass

For systems that do not include a by pass it may be possible to fit one
retrospectively. This will prevent the incoming air from being heated up by
the out going air.

Single Room Heat Recovery Ventilators (SRHRV)

how it works

As an alternative we offer a range of self-contained individual fans that provide heat recovery. These are normally mounted in an external wall and provide local ventilation.

Coming in a range of sizes, applications from a small bathroom to a large function room can be accommodated.

Servicing

The whole operation is straight forward and normally undertaken once a year. Full details are provided with each unit. Start by giving the Heat Exchange unit a vacuum clean then simply wash the Heat Exchanger in warm water using a mild detergent. The filters (if fitted) can be accessed and changed at the same time, however it may be necessary to replace filters more frequently depending on local conditions.

ADM can provide a complete maintenance service. Contact ADM Systems and we will phone you... or call us now on 01756 701051.

"We are very pleased with the system... even my wife who is always a bit cynical about my flights into technology, is convinced of its benefits!" J.O. Wiltshire

"We are thrilled with both the ventilation and vacuum systems. We would definitely have them again." L.A. Oxfordshire

"I also got a quote from ADM again since we'd liked the system we'd had before. Once again, they were very helpful with designs and questions. I placed the order with ADM. The guy who also designs the systems is called Tom Guest and he is very helpful" Mr & Mrs P. West Lothian

"I particularly like the solid pipes"
P.P. Middlesex
